Hi, and welcome to the official website for Sound Obsession Productions™. My name is Somong and I’m proud to be your guide. Before we travel through this musical journey, below is a brief biography providing you with sum of my history.

Somong, translated from Korean to English means HOPE. Obviously more than just a stage name, Somong decided to accept the name and alias "So," as a great way of keeping it real and simple. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Somong is the different dimensions of his capabilities. Born Korean and Afro-American, he was also an athlete, percussionist, free style-dancer, pianist, and an artist who eventually ventured into the music business during his high-school years. Known for his love of entertainment, it wasn’t until he won his first music competition that he took his inherited talents seriously.

Somong’s father, an independent musician, also had a career doing local gigs. Needless to say, Somong’s musical mixture has been in his bloodline since his early stages of life. Somong began singing for his church choir while simultaneously forming his crafts under the roof of a religious home. Although coming from a positive upbringing, life wasn’t always easy for the rising star. Stumbling across discrimination and tough challenges through out his career, he collected knowledge from both the positive and negatives. However, it is living and progressing through these moments that has helped him become who he is today. Mentally brawny, witty, and capable of taking upon many challenges. Flexing his musical intellect, Somong has managed to escape by utilizing music as a scapegoat, in which he states, "Music to me, is like a bridge over the highest tides and I’ve realized as a new artist, that it’s very important to start on the right track."

Progressing and maturing vividly, fans of all genres can expect a fresh breath of air. A movement guided by Somong’s ability to create a unique style of music while meeting the demands of most musical aficionados. With his out going personality blended with his frank demeanor, Somong has certainly proven his competence of leading Palm Beach County, Florida to a higher national recognition. Definitely a star on the rise, not only from stumbling past quarrels, but from the gutsy music scenes of Palm Beach County located in Florida. Allowing HOPE to be heard, he gracefully follows his destiny through the clouds while leading his perception of sound by example.
